Rendering
The purpose of rendering is two-fold, namely to weatherproof the building wall and to provide pleasing finishes of various textures. Plastering is a skilled trade and an expert plasterer should be employed wherever possible, as there are many points that can only be learnt by experience.
Boarding
Using the right materials I can achieve great results plastering your walls and ceilings.
Dry Lining
A technique for finishing internal surfaces, comprising platerboard fixed to a timber stud, providing the oppurtunity to incorporate insulation within a stud, or using laminated plasterboard with insulated backing laid on plaster dabs.
Skimming
Plaster skimming to plasterboards is a popular method of providing a smooth, seamless surface ready to receive decorative treatment. Skim plastering gives many of the advantages of a traditional solid plaster finish combined with quick turnaround on site. Surface preparation simply involves joint reinforcement and, if tapered edge board is used, flushing-out the tapers. The plaster is applied to the wall or ceiling surface to a nominal 2mm thickness. Key benefits:-
Traditional plaster finish
Provides uniform surface
Resilient and scuff resistant for general purposes
Applied to 2mm thickness
Finished in one visit to property
Coving
Over the years, plaster mouldings developed into an adornment for housing and rooms. The most popular being Coving. Coving or Cornicing is the process of fixing simple or ornate plaster mouldings around the joint between the ceiling and the walls as a way of both joining the two and also extending the design styling of a room or house.
K-Rend
The K Rend silicone range incorporates silicone water repellents as an integral part of the cement based render system. This silicone technology imparts a high degree of water repellency to the render surface whilst allowing water vapour to pass through the render allowing the substrate to breathe. Solid Wall Insulation
Did you know that around 45% of the heat lost in an un-insulated solid walled home is through the walls? Insulating your solid walls can reduce heat loss and can save you around 375 pounds a year on your fuel bills. Check this out further at The Energy Savings Trust UK.
